How BuddMD works
From intake to certification, here's exactly what happens — and how we communicate with you along the way.
Fill out the intake form
Submit your name, date of birth, state of residence, phone, email, condition/relevant medical information, and a photo ID. You can choose to pay upfront at this step to streamline scheduling, or wait until after we verify your information.
The physician contacts you to verify
The physician reaches out by text or phone call to confirm the information you submitted.
Secure payment (if not already paid)
If you didn't pay at intake, you'll receive a secure Stripe payment link once your information is verified.
Telemedicine evaluation
Your visit with the physician happens primarily by phone or secure messaging. A video visit is used if needed.
Certification issued
New York: Your certificate is emailed to you. You are automatically registered with the NY Medical Cannabis Program upon certification — no separate state application or card needed.
Connecticut: The physician enters your certification into the state's online system. The state then emails you to complete your registration with the CT Department of Consumer Protection.
How we communicate
Care is delivered primarily by phone and text, with email and video available as needed.
Text / SMS
Our primary way of reaching you — for verification, updates, and scheduling.
Phone call
Used for verification and your telemedicine evaluation.
Used occasionally, and always used to send your NY certificate.
Video visit
Available when a video evaluation is needed.
