Telehealth Consent
What to expect from a telemedicine visit with BuddMD.
Nature of telehealth services
BuddMD delivers medical marijuana certification evaluations via telemedicine. Care is delivered primarily by phone and text message, occasionally by email, with video visits used when needed. You will not have an in-person visit as part of this process.
Physician licensure
Your evaluation is conducted by a physician licensed in New York and Connecticut, authorized to certify patients for medical cannabis in both states.
Verification process
After you submit your intake form, the physician will contact you by text or phone to verify the information you provided before proceeding with your evaluation.
Limitations of telehealth
As with any telehealth service, evaluation is based on the information you provide and what can be assessed remotely, without an in-person physical examination.
Certification outcome is not guaranteed
Completing an evaluation does not guarantee certification. Certification is issued only if the physician determines you meet the applicable state requirements — a fixed qualifying condition list in Connecticut, or physician discretion in New York.
Cash-pay, no insurance
Telehealth visits with BuddMD are cash-pay only; insurance is not billed or accepted for these services.
Your consent
By proceeding with intake and your telemedicine visit, you consent to receive care via phone, text, email, and/or video as described above.
